I have been working as a web designer and front-end developer for 15 years. During this time, I have been able to consolidate and expand my skills both in the team environment of an owner-managed advertising agency and as an independent sole trader. My focus is on visual communication in print and online media, where I ensure a sustainable user experience for start-ups, medium-sized companies and international corporations.
With many years of experience in designing websites and applications, I offer robust, user-centered digital designs. I also place great emphasis on corporate design and brand identity, which are essential components of a successful brand presence. Project overview
Brand design and web development for a startup for occupational safety
For the startup Kevin Metz - Training & Consulting, I was responsible for the logo and brand development, as well as for the implementation of the website. React(NextJS), Framer-Motion, HTML, Typescript and TailwindCSS were used again. Sanity.io served as a backend CMS customized for the customer.
Personal Website with Micro-Animations
For a personal portfolio, I was responsible for both the design and the technical implementation of the website. React with NextJS, Framer-Motion, HTML, Typescript and TailwindCSS were used for the frontend. Sanity.io served as the backend in order to manage the website content as flexibly as possible as an easy-to-configure CMS.
Website launch including event calendar and spotify integration
In a customized project for the heavy metal band RIGORIOUS from Monheim am Rhein, I was in charge of the UX design and the technical implementation of the website. I designed the interface and user experience using Figma and Photoshop. For the frontend I used Astro, Framer-Motion, HTML, Typescript and TailwindCSS to develop a performant and appealing website. By working closely with the band, I was able to realize their specific requirements and design an immersive website that reflects RIGORIOUS' identity and offers seamless integration with music and tour data platforms.
Creation of a shop and inventory management system for selling historical newspapers
As part of the redesign of Geschenkzeitung.de, I was the sole responsible designer and frontend developer for the webshop and the backend/merchandise management system. My tasks included the conception and implementation of the user interface (UI/UX) with the aim of improving user-friendliness and creating a modern design. I was also responsible for designing the new corporate identity, including the logo, fonts and color palette. As project manager, I coordinated the various phases of the project and used Adobe XD and Photoshop for the design and HTML, SCSS, Typescript and Angular for the front-end implementation. The result is a modern, user-friendly platform that enables Geschenkzeitung.de to offer its customers an outstanding shopping experience and optimized service.
Development of a brand identity and website relaunch
As part of the project with KB-Automation, I was significantly involved in the development and implementation of a new brand design. My tasks included redesigning the logo, including the typography and color scheme, to reflect the company's technological expertise. I also designed and technically implemented the website by developing the bilingual website from scratch using Wordpress and Elementor. In addition, I was responsible for the design and production of print media such as business cards, flyers and posters that consistently implement the new brand design.
Brand and product development of an innovative insect repellent jacket
In the project to develop the FUNC brand and launch their innovative product "Flystopper", I played a central role in designing the brand identity and online presence. This included the creation of a holistic branding, including logo, typography and color design, as well as the development of a user-friendly webshop with Shopify. By supporting the technical implementation and the design of print media such as business cards, flyers and posters, I made a significant contribution to the successful marketing of the product. In addition, product and image photography played an important role in ensuring a consistent and appealing presentation across all channels and advertising media. With my expertise in tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator and InDesign, I was able to help realize the vision of the project and successfully position the Flystopper on the market.
Brand development and process digitalization of a system for planning and implementation of events
As part of the project for AB-SportEvent GmbH, I was responsible for redesigning the logo and website as well as adapting the corporate identity. By developing a contemporary design and integrating new fonts and color adjustments, I helped to strengthen the client's brand image. I also handled the design and templatization of the new website, ensuring a modern presentation of the service offering and an improved user experience. Working closely with the client, we made iterative improvements to ensure the solutions developed met their needs and efficiently supported their event business.
Brand and product development of digital food startup
In this project to develop a brand for jarred food, I played a key role in designing the brand identity and online presence. My activities included the complete brand design from the ground up, including logo, typography, colors, flyers and the complete product label and packaging design. Using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign, I created creative solutions that reflect the adventurousness, quality and enjoyment of the products. I was also responsible for the design and templatization of the website, providing a seamless and user-friendly shopping experience that conveyed the diversity of the products and the joy of indulgence. Product and advertising photography was also created exclusively by me.
