The Starting Point
Our online shop was almost 20 years old. The technology came from another era – slow, confusing, barely usable on smartphones. But the bigger problem was behind the scenes: every order had to be processed manually. No defined processes, no automation. With 20,000 orders per year, this consumed an incredible amount of time. We knew: this couldn't continue.
The Analysis
At Geschenkzeitung.de, we quickly realized: a new shop alone won't solve the problem. The real challenge lies in the processes behind it. That's why we planned two systems in parallel from the start – a modern PWA shop for customers and a custom ERP system for internal operations. Both systems needed to work seamlessly together and create the foundation for further growth.

The New Shop Goes Live
After an intensive development phase, the new Geschenkzeitung.de shop went live. The Angular-based Progressive Web App impresses with fast loading times, intuitive product search, and a well-designed checkout process. Mobile users experience a full shopping experience without limitations for the first time.
Babylon Takes Over Processes
The custom ERP system Babylon was fully transitioned to production. Automated workflows for order processing, inventory management, and shipping replace manual activities. The connection to shipping providers and accounting software closes the process chain and creates end-to-end transparency.
